Famished Friday's...

And here we are once again, ladies and gentleman.  It's diet time.  ugh. sigh. boo. hiss.  (If you're wondering I have my serious pout face on right now.)  I HATE DIETING.  This is not news.  I dream and pray for a metabolism where I can eat all of the brownies, chips and pizza I want without gaining a single ounce.  I, however, am one of the unlucky ones who gains weight just by being in the same room with said snacks.  It doesn't help that I love eating, though.

So, while down in the 'noke over the holidays, my parents decided we ALL needed to diet (Mom, Dad, Andrew and me) and that we would make it a little interesting.  Whoever loses the most weight (though we're going with percentage of weight like they do on the Biggest Loser) will get a $125 gift card to the store of their choice.  My parents are putting in the $100 and Andrew and I are putting in the $25.  We're cheap.  hehe

So, yesterday we had the official weigh in and let me tell you folks, it was NOT pretty!  We all were shocked and appalled at what a month of holiday eating can do to a person!  ugh!  I was way too close to the 200 mark for comfort.  ACK!  I will not reveal anyone's weight, but we were all in desperate need to lose a lot.

I think my ultimate goal will be 40lbs (though I could absolutely stand to lose more than that), but we'll see if I last that long.  A good 25 would be sufficient, but not ideal.

So, the contest ends April 1st (but hopefully the weight loss will continue into the summer), and to keep me accountable, I will be posting here every Friday letting you know how much closer I am to reaching my goal.

Famished Friday's seems like an appropriate name for these posts... especially since it's only 9:30 in the morning and I am already starving just at the thought of being on Weight Watchers again.  WW is our household diet of choice, by the way.  I do love Weight Watchers and I feel confident in the following this program to lose weight.  It's the only one I've ever found that really works.

So... here I am... fat and hungry... but soon it will change and these hunger pangs will go away and I will be thinner and happier and healthier!  So, here's to losing weight!

And now it's time to break out the Wii Fit that we got months ago and have only used... mmm... 3 times.  yeah.

(P.S. - I will post pictures from Christmas soon... but I still have not put them on my computer.  Plus I got Photoshop for Christmas and I want to play with it before posting pictures anyway.)

Happy New Year!

Erin!

Have I told you about the Raw Food Detox Diet yet? You should check it out- author is Natalia Rose. I've lost 17 pounds so far (though I gained 5 back over Christmas... sigh...), but I don't feel deprived. Just a thought... hey, one way to lose weight is to do a cleanse... colonic, anyone? :-) Goodluck! I know it's tough, but I'm motivated- we'll get there! Love ya!

Good luck!! I gain weight when I overeat but I know I have no way of understanding what it's like to deal with anything beyond that, so I really send you energy and a mindset that sees you past the annoyance of wanting to eat and yet knowing you shouldn't. I know when I'm distracted it helps (like getting a speeding ticket today made me lose my appetite for lunch)...

It seems like such a hassle that we're programmed to want fat and sugar because it's what would have helped us survive thousands of years ago...but the majority of us don't require that back-up system anymore. I wish our bodies would catch up. Or develop a means of dealing with the excess. :)

I like to eat so much that the only way I've managed to take in the volume I enjoy is to somehow try to acquire lighter versions of everything. I refuse to eat small amounts if I don't feel satisfied...

Good luck! :)

I have totally asked for photoshop for Christmas the last 3 years and still haven't gotten it! I might break down and just buy it for myself. :) You got the one for Mac, right? Let me know how it works! :)

And good luck with your diet! I know, diets suck! But you've got some good motivation, and honestly, the accountability might be your best motivating factor! I know for me it's so much easier to exercise and eat right when others around me are too. But when Amy comes home with McDonalds or Heather wants a pizza, I crack! And exercise is boring if you're doing it alone...anyway, good luck! I know you can do it!
